How to create a Shopify FAQ page for EasyEdit
Help your customers understand how they can edit their orders right after placing them with a clear and helpful FAQ page.
Why Create a FAQ Page?
A well-crafted FAQ page helps your customers understand the self-service order editing capabilities available to them. This reduces support tickets, improves customer satisfaction, and empowers customers to manage their orders independently.
Step 1: Access Your Shopify Admin
Log in to your Shopify admin panel and navigate to Online Store > Pages in the left sidebar.
Pro Tip
If you already have a FAQ page, you can simply add these questions to your existing page instead of creating a new one.
Step 2: Create a New Page
- Click the "Add page" button in the top right corner
- Enter a title for your page (e.g., "Order Editing FAQ" or "How to Edit Your Order")
- Add a brief introduction explaining that customers can edit their orders after purchase
Step 3: Add Essential FAQ Questions
Include these key questions and answers to help your customers understand the order editing process:
Q: Can I edit my order after placing it?
A: Yes! You can edit your order within [timeframe] of placing it. You can modify items, update quantities, change your shipping address, or cancel your order before it ships.
Q: How do I edit my order?
A: After placing your order, check your email for the order confirmation. Click the "Edit Order" button or link in the email to access your order details and make changes. You can also access the order editor from the order status page.
Q: What changes can I make to my order?
A: You can:
- Update items
- Change product quantities
- Update your shipping address
- Swap products for different variants (size, color, etc.)
- Cancel your order entirely
Q: How long do I have to edit my order?
A: You can edit your order until it has been shipped. Typically, orders can be modified within [X hours/days] of purchase. Once an order has shipped, you'll need to follow our return process instead.
Q: Will I be charged extra if I add items?
A: If you add items or increase quantities, you'll see the updated total and will be charged the difference. If you remove items or reduce quantities, you'll receive a refund for the difference to your original payment method.
Q: What if my order has already shipped?
A: Once your order has shipped, you can no longer edit it through the order editor. Please refer to our return and exchange policy, or contact our customer support team for assistance.
Step 4: Customize for Your Store
Make sure to customize the answers above based on your specific store policies:
- Replace [timeframe] and [X hours/days] with your actual time limits
- Add any specific restrictions or limitations for your store (e.g., certain products can't be edited)
- Include links to your return policy or customer support
- Add information about any fees or restrictions that apply
Step 5: Publish and Link to Your FAQ Page
- Click "Save" to publish your FAQ page
- Add a link to your FAQ page in your main navigation menu or footer
- Consider adding a link to the FAQ in your order confirmation emails
- Reference the FAQ page in your EasyEdit widget configuration for easy customer access
Best Practice
Include a clear call-to-action on your FAQ page that links directly to where customers can check their order status and make edits. This reduces friction and improves the customer experience.
Additional Tips
- Use clear, simple language that's easy for all customers to understand
- Add screenshots or a short video showing the order editing process
- Keep the page updated as you modify your order editing policies
- Monitor customer support tickets to identify additional questions to add
- Consider adding a search function if your FAQ page grows large
Ready-to-Use Markdown Template
Copy the markdown template below and paste it directly into your Shopify page editor. Remember to customize the timeframes and policies to match your store's specific requirements.
